Materials and Mechanisms for Force Transduction
نویسنده
چکیده
Various approaches to sensing forces and generating forces are presented in the context of building human-technology interfaces capable of communicating force information. Addressing the need for various types of force transducers, special emphasis is given to opportunities created by new classes of materials, including smart materials, electronic polymers, and magnetic materials. Basic physical limits and design trade-offs are given for building force sensors and actuators from these materials. In addition, the possibility of using force transduction as a means of generating electrical energy is also briefly discussed. Finally, two brief illustrative examples, “power shoes” and “deformable surfaces,” are also presented.

Study of PKA binding sites in cAMP-signaling pathway using structural protein-protein interaction networks
Backgroud: Protein-protein interaction, plays a key role in signal transduction in signaling pathways. Different approaches are used for prediction of these interactions including experimental and computational approaches. In conventional node-edge protein-protein interaction networks, we can only see which proteins interact but ‘structural networks’ show us how these proteins inter...
متن کاملEnergy harvesting vibration sources for microsystems applications
This paper reviews the state-of-the art in vibration energy harvesting for wireless, self-powered microsystems. Vibration-powered generators are typically, although not exclusively, inertial spring and mass systems. The characteristic equations for inertial-based generators are presented, along with the specific damping equations that relate to the three main transduction mechanisms employed to...

Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducers (EMATs) are an attractive alternative to standard piezoelectric probes in a number of applications thanks to their contactless nature. EMATs do not require any couplant liquid and are able to generate a wide range of wave-modes; however these positive features are partly counterbalanced by a relatively low signal-to-noise ratio and by the dependence of EMAT ...

The Study of Hot Spots as a Cause of Circumstantial Initiation in Energetic Materials in order to Increase Work and Storage Safety of these Materials is of Special Importance. Hot Spots, by Converting Different Types of Force like Mechanical Forces, Friction, Heat, and… into Heat, Cause the Temperature to Rise Exponentially by about 700 Kelvin in 10-3 to 10-5 Seconds at that Point. If This Temp...
